Dinner 6:30 – Film 7:30 pm
Friends Meeting House
4312 SE Stark, Main Dining Hall
Suggested donation $5-$10 but no one turned away.
Bring a veg or vegan potluck dish to share and join us for dinner and conversation. After supper, when the dishes are cleared away, we’ll watch this beautiful and moving documentary that follows the path of Tibetan Buddhism from its origins high in the snow-capped Himalaya of Tibet, to its emerging position in the hustling, bustling cities of contemporary Western civilization.
The title of this film refers to the quote below by Padmasambhava, known as Guru Rinpoche or Precious Master. A spiritual giant, Padmasambhava is credited with founding Tibetan Buddhism in the 8th century CE, and is revered as an incarnation of the Buddha.
“When the iron bird flies and horses run on wheels,
the Tibetan people will be scattered like ants across the face of the earth.”
